Waste free shopping made simple and easy
When you become a member of Ballarat Wholefoods Collective, we'll step you through how everything works.
We're here to help.
Please ask for assistance at any time during your first few visits as we operate a bit differently to your normal supermarket or retail store.
On arrival at the shop, please wash your hands in the nearby bathroom before entering. There is also natural hand sanitiser throughout the shop to use at any time.
You can collect a pencil and paper to record the various products that you are purchasing from the front counter, but we do encourage you to bring your own or to record items on your phone notes app to avoid unnecessary paper use. Your goods are charged by weight so you can buy as much or as little as you need. This is brilliant for special recipes that require specific ingredients that you might not use very often.
We endeavour to minimise as much waste as possible. You should bring their own clean jars, containers, produce bags, and carry bags each time you shop. Use the scales to weigh your container without a lid then hit the TARE button to zero the counter. Remove your container and fill it with your choice of product, then place it back on the scales to determine how much product you have added. Write down the item and it's weight on your list.

Once you have completed your shopping, bring your goodies and list of products to the payment counter. You can pay with cash or card and you will receive an email with an itemised list of your purchases for that visit. Please note that a small surcharge applies for card purchases, to help cover our banking costs.
